Good news for those working with Azure Storage Account, support for NFS (Network File System) v3 and v4 have been added to Azure Storage Account.
That said, there is currently a requirement to first register your subscription as this is currently in preview; registration form is available at https://aka.ms/AzureNFSPreview
For your information:
- NFS v3 is best suited for large scale read-heavy sequential access workload where data will be ingested once and minimally modified further (like backup and archive or NFS apps for media rendering)
- NFS v4 is optimized for random access workloads with in-place data updates, providing full POSIX file system support
