Developer — Automation & Workflow Solutions
About Us
cubesys is a Microsoft Solution Partner helping organisations unlock the value of their Microsoft 365 investment. Our team builds practical, elegant solutions that connect systems, automate repetitive work, and give people back their time.
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, restless student or graduate to join our technology team and help build the internal tools and automated workflows that make our organisation run smarter.
You will work hands-on with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform — designing, testing, and iterating on solutions that connect systems, surface information, and remove repetitive manual work. This is a role for someone who gets genuine satisfaction from pulling systems apart, understanding how they work, and putting them back together in a better way.
This is not a 'shadow a senior and take notes' role. You will be building real things that real people use.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and build automated workflows across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and related platforms
- Prototype and test solutions quickly — iterating based on what works and what doesn't
- Document your processes and outcomes clearly so the team understands what you built and why
- Identify friction points in existing processes and propose ways to streamline or eliminate them
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot issues methodically, test edge cases, and push solutions until they are reliable
- Present your work — explaining trade-offs and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Who We're Looking For
We care more about how you think than what is on your transcript. We are looking for someone who is:
- Curious — you don't stop at the surface. When something doesn't make sense, you dig until it does.
- Determined — you push through when things are broken, ambiguous, or harder than expected. You find another angle.
- Experimental — you're comfortable not knowing the answer upfront. You form a hypothesis, test it, and adjust.
- A clear communicator — you can explain what you built, why you built it, and what you learned — in plain language.
What You'll Need
Essential:
-
Studying or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
-
Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and platforms independently
-
Strong written communication skills
Desirable (not required):
-
Hands-on experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) or Microsoft 365 administration
-
Exposure to API integrations, JSON, or scripting (Python, PowerShell, C#, or similar)
-
Any experience building tools for yourself or others — side projects, capstones, or volunteer work all count
What You'll Gain
- Direct mentorship from experienced professionals in technology and operations
- Exposure to enterprise Microsoft platforms and real-world systems at scale
- Flexibility on hours and location — we care about output, not attendance
- A genuine portfolio of work you can point to at the end of your tenure
How to Apply
Send us your CV (careers@cubesys.com.au) but more importantly, tell us about something you built or figured out. It doesn't need to be formal or work-related. We want to understand how you think, how you approach problems, and what happens when you hit a wall.
Applications that do not include this will not be considered.
